there for me.” She caressed his shoulder, thrilling in the way his body shivered and tightened for her.
“That was when I knew you really loved me. You were willing to face the worst thing imaginable.”
“And I knew when you sacrificed everything to keep him from killing me or anyone else.” His
lashes lay in gentle repose against stubble rough cheeks as he rested against her. “So, why are we
going to Aunt Jerry’s?”
She smiled when he used her title instead of her name. She knew Aunt Jerry and Mitch had
become close friends. “Mostly time for ourselves. We’ll stay in touch with everyone and probably
come back in a few months. If that’s all right?”
He nodded in easy agreement. “I guess I need a passport. I’ve never left the States.”
Brooke waved a hand. “Nah, we’ll go the short way.”
He cracked an eye. “Two questions. You know how to do that? And does it hurt?”
She felt a laugh tickle from the inside. “Now I do, yes. And no. Not at all.” Mitch let out a relieved
breath, his cracked eye closing again and the laughter escaped. Her fingers played through his short
hair. “One thing, Mitch.” He murmured in contentment against her stomach. “How do you feel about
kids?”
His eyes snapped open. “I don’t know. I haven’t even thought of it.”
“Are you against trying?” she asked. Her heart was beating heavily, concerned he might be
completely against children.
“Against trying, never.” He grinned with a wicked smile. “But with you,” he dropped a kiss where
he rested, “I think you’d make a great mom.” He shifted to a more serious expression. “Do you think
you are?”
She shook her head. “No, but I’ve wanted a family and my mate for so long, I had an ache right
here.” She pressed a small fist against her chest. “I have you and I’m gloriously happy, but if you can
handle it, I’d like to start soon.”
“The old fashioned way?” he asked with a meaningful chuckle. “I know I can handle that.” He
kissed her again and made leisurely tracks across her skin.

Her body surged and pulsed under his touch. She moaned hungrily when he released her hand
and started warming her body to an aching simmer.
He stopped and peered at her with a sudden, surprised expression. “You know, this just occurred
to me, but you realize our children and Bram’s children are going to practically be siblings. Double
relations.”
She nodded as her lips curved. “You’re right. But you do know they are five months ahead of us
now,” she teased him.
He dipped his head again. She moaned as his tongue lit sparks across her body. “Not for long.”
And he was right.
